Aghyaran G.A.C was founded in 1956 and named after St.Davog..
St.Davog was a companion of
St.Patrick who has a great association with the parish through the holy well at Magherakeel.
On the 16/9/1985 construction started on the new GAA centre. This was a large project for a small rural club that had limited access to it.
All committee and club members knew the task ahead and completed the project with their first function on 3/3/1989.
Easter Monday 16/4/1990 saw the Blessing and Rededication of the pitch to the memory of Michael Dolan (R.I..P).Bishop Edward Daly officiated at the ceremony,and Tyrone played Donegal in a senior match in remberance to Michael.
